Cleopatra is a very sweet, soulful dog. Despite being treated terribly and abandoned, she loves humans and craves our affection. She is a very calm and quiet dog, she doesn’t bark at all during her stay in the shelter. She gets along with her dog friends on the street and seems to have quite a happy and positive attitude usually. She doesn’t seem to have proper leash training, but she does walk along on leash with us now so would probably pick it up very quickly. She was clearly someone’s pet dog and appreciates the comforts of home and company of people, so we are hoping to find her a home to spend her middle and older years in happiness and safety.
We were called to help Cleopatra in October 2024 by volunteers feeding local street dogs. Cleo had shown up, probably abandoned, with a terrible injury to her tail and the flesh was rotting. We took her for treatment and her tail was 2/3 amputated, we also had her sterilised. She tested positive for ehrlichia so we have taken her in to give a course of antibiotics and ensure recovery from her surgeries. Cleopatra is a street dog and will return to the street after recovery, but we can retain her if reserved before December or pick her up again from her usual place.
