Charlie is extremely gentle and friendly towards people and loves leash walks. He is an anxious dog, which is made much worse living in a shelter. Despite his past trauma and some anxious behaviours like pacing and humping objects and dogs (not people), he still has such joy to see us and has hope in his eyes every day. | |
We rescued Charlie in 2018 from the street. We believe that people tried to use Charlie for dog fighting, but fighting is the last thing this sweet boy wants to do. Charlie is so lovely and friendly, he loves people. He is an anxious dog, probably due to his past, but still greets us with joy every day and waits impatiently for his occasional walk. Although Charlie would like to be near the other dogs, he is terrified of aggression and if a dog growls or barks at him he will vomit from stress. We try to keep him in a quiet space but this is very difficult in a shelter with over 30 dogs. He also sometimes shows awkward behaviours around other dogs, like mounting them, which obviously upsets the other dogs. This is probably coping mechanism from his past trauma. Charlie would thrive in a peaceful home with daily walks, as a single dog. He really deserves to live out his more senior years with some happiness and peace.
